I got behind one of these today on my highway on the way to work. Its very nice looking from the rear. but then i moved right and passed them and saw what happens when you bump the designers elbow and they dont notice.
wtf
i know there was some sort of regulation that led to this but damn, pretty much anything would have looked better.

That was only your first? That’s a bit surprising when considering they’ve been out a while, now
. My neighbor actually owns one, but he’s
super secluded.

I think this was an attempt to include the side market into the taillight design. But I agree that it doesn’t work design-wise

I think I’ve seen three, and all of them were in urban Atlanta in the same day. Nowhere since then.
I agree there’s some questionable design there, but I know the DOT requires a certain amount of side reflector at each corner. Not a great solution, IMO.
Bigger than that, though, is that it doesn’t look much like any other Kia, which is very odd in the modern day. It’s like they adopted it. From the Camry designers’ trash can.

I don't love that light but overall a nice looking car. See a ton of them here in NC.

I really dig these, I’m just not confident in the longevity and build quality. Especially at that price. I know people are head over heels, but my risk mitigation is high on this one.
